susie and i made these dipped-choco grand marnier flavored strawberries for our friend's holiday party last month... our dish was instantly the biggest hit of all dishes... we were surprised how delicious our sweeties were as it was our first time in making this dessert dish!!!

i think it took us like perhaps an hour and half to make those 50 dipped choco strawberries! i don't think we'll be making them anytime soon! also, i think we had a few people thinking that our dish came directly from a chocolate boutique!
a few weeks ago, there was this party hosted by jeans boutique, self-edge, and a super-fashiona forum called superfuture.that i wanted to go due to the prizes that it was offering. on that day, i wore a plaid sweatshirt along with a baggy jeans to give more urban street look all day walking along haight street with susie. but somehow i felt little odd wearing it because susie looked very causal (think of the GAP) and obviously we were an odd couple. so before going to the party, we went back home and changed into more appriopriate dress to match with susie's look. when susie saw me in my new look, she gave me that 'weird' look and mentioned that i looked too dorky! i just didn't give a crap about what she has to say and off we went to the party... the party was offering a few prizes via drawing. so anything that was purchased at the shop would be automatically entered into the drawing. the prizes were 1 pair of jeans for lady from sling and stones, 1 pair of sugar canes for a man, and 1 pair of sunglasses (valued at at least $500). that wasn't all... there would be a $400 gift certificate for self edge shop to the best dressed person. the party started at 5 pm, so susie and i would get into this puny shop and look for something to buy to get into the drawing. i bought a nice buttoned flathead black/white houndstooth shirt which was made in japan. since the drawing wouldn't be announced until at 9 pm, susie and i went out to dine nearby at a japanese vegeterian restaurant. boy, the dishes there were absolutely delicious and we just caught up about everything on what we've done in the past week (we only see each other a couple of hours per day during weekdays) after dinner, we went back to the party, and waited for the drawings. bang, i had won a pair of sugar cane jeans. then next, bang, i was selected as the best dressed which i found to be surprising because there were definitely some dudes out at the party who did dress better than i did in my humble opinion! i just think that my exposed socks charmed the judges from self edge and superfuture as i was the only one who had my jeans rolled up.

a few days ago, i went to self edge shop to get my prized jeans: sugar canes okinawa (http://saddlemen.net/jeans/sc40301.htm) and now, i'm hoping to use $400 card to spend a nice pair of jeans for susie! she definitely needs one good quality of jeans! i'm just glad that i didn't listen to susie's comments about myself looking dorky! ;-)
also, i guess you finally get to take a glimpse of our new pad in the background though we're still not done with our pad yet ;-)
