i am in frankfurt, germany now. even though today is monday the 26th, all the shops and restaurants are CLOSED. a few cafes are only open so i was able to do some people watching from there. there are awfully manz families taking a stroll around, unfortunately, the shops are closed unlike america. i think i flew to frankfurt at wrong time because i wasnt able to find friends around here as theyve gone to their families' homes for the holidays! but i got to see some beautiful landmarks. also, i can't believe that i actually found this spot where i used to play around with my parents back in the early 1980s when we visited it on the way to yugoslavia. well, since everything is closed today, i think i will catch up my sleep early tonight.
happy holidays. no fanfare here. no creative.
simply greetings for you. use your imagination on what i would do here.
now, i'm off to the airport soon to catch my flight to europe.
yes, susie will meet me there soon in a few days.
happy new year.
to get a wisdom tooth extracted today...
Yep. Got my upper left tooth removed... While I have heard numerous horrific stories of wisdom teeth removed, mine was amazingly smooth and quick. i guess it has to do with just ONE wisdom tooth.
after a few injections of shots on my gums, my dentist had extracted my tooth instantly in just a few seconds and then my minor surgery is over.
now, i'm sucking strawberry haagen dazs...
tomorrow, my parents are flying over to down under for a month.
so, yes, i will be celebrating christmas A_L_O_N_E but i will be enjoying this very much because i will be in a plane on that day....
to be continued . . .
someone had nominated my blog as one of the best photo blogs yet i do not post many pictures as some nominees do. i only show you the best ones here to make this blog worth checking occasionally. har har... i hope i don't WIN this award... so do NOT vote for me.
may the best blog win.
yesterday, i went for an emergency visit at my childhood's dentist's office in san francisco as i've been getting a toothache for the past 2 weeks...
turns out that i have a huge cavity in one of my teeth that immediately requires either a root canal or extraction. i opted to go for the extraction as this tooth is the 'wisdom' tooth. (yes, i haven't had my wisdom teeth removed yet because all the dentists that i have seen said that i don't even need my peacefully wisdom teeth removed) and i've made an appointment with a referred dentist to get my tooth removed next week. that's a price that i've paid for not getting my teeth cleaned out in 16 months or so considering how sweet my teeth are.
once my upper left wisdom tooth is removed, i'd love to take a picture of my new bottomless 'pit' gum and post it here. i know that most of you natually will be disgusted, but keep in mind, how often do you see this one of a kind image anywhere?
anyway, also, if you ever get sick of many 'biased' media news, why not check this out: happy news. i think this is one of the best gifts for everyone... reading many wonderful news about those tiny goodie things!
i'm in eagle rock, ca in the area of los angeles as i'm sleeping right in my jeep next to my friend's house. luckily, there's a wifi hovering around here, so i'm able to type up a brief blog here.
just got here an hour ago from driving on i-5 from palo alto.
anyway, i'm in town for a business trip (well... both pleasure and business). i'm going to attend one of my favorite illustrators, touma's, art show in pasadena and also, tim biskup is having his holiday party, too, next door!
so, if you're in LA, feel free to check them out... you can find more info about them at:
touma at mixi-bang
tim biskup's holiday party at bispop
hope to see you there...
just earlier... susie and i were playing with our last names in the web... somehow that led to translating our last names... my last name's chinese character was translated into 'liang' which is the correct name... (liang is mandarin dialect while 'leung' is cantonese dialect...) but for susie's case, it was completely weird. her last name's character got translated into lebanon. sooooo wrong!
i guess living in my parents' home, we feel so 'chinese' here as we've been eating lots of chinese food, seeing chinese characters everywhere, and seeing my parents' chinese friends... excuse us if we don't seem to be chinese-americans enough... we've gotten into F.O.B. lately... is that good or bad sign?
