special lecture...

today i will be giving a lecture to the teens california school for the deaf fremont. it's going to be delightful to work with the teens for a day and encourage them to get involved with creative art as well as elaborate what is it like to go through a 'real' world. i hope that i can provide something worthy enough to pass on to those teens.

HELLO CSDF if you are reading this! ;-)

productive weekend!

while my wife's out in ohio attending her friend's wedding, i had to get out of home and do something as i'm all home alone (my parents have gone to LA for a week). so on friday, i was in san francisco running some errands - pick up new tiles for our bathroom in our flat, pick up mail, and afterwards went out to fremont to check out uk's paddy ladd's lecture about the true nature of deaf culture. while i could relate my deafness to his work, i need to read his book, _ understanding deaf culture: in search of deafhood _ to gain his deep perspective about deaf heritage.

on saturday, all day, i worked on ooqboo.com and in the evening, went out to san francisco again to go bar hopping to search for an ideal mecca bar for the pre-banquet's party... i have found a jackpot and will post about it real soon. it's open to everyone who are coming to san francisco on the weekend of october 14th.

sunday... i stayed home mostly, cleaning up my bedroom, working on ooqboo.com, and chilling out...

now, i'm ready to welcome susie back home tomorrow and get things rolling with wedding details and of course, her affection, too!

back to civilized world...

ok... i'm at the point where i feel that i'm back to civilized world and get things rolling.

now, i have reflected back on what i have seen at the burning man so you can get a fair idea what the festival is like:

- numerous numbers of vast art installations in just one area
- naked teens, college students, married couples, and of course nude senior citizens that you might want try to avoid.
- tight sense of community (no cash giving allowed - only bartering and hug exchanges)
- creative re-use of environment on a dry playa
- creative use of mutant vehicles (memo to self: build a mushroom vehicle)
- creative, wacky costumes that would make halloween look meaningless and pointless.
- full of bicycles that would compete with china for being populous town with bike owners
- a few 'porta-fuck' tents which was pretty hilarious for any interested couple
- temporary town that comes very ALIVE during the evenings filled with many dazzling, electrifying lights (makes me wonder where did they get so much of watts from in this middle of nowhere?)
- many psychedelic junks everywhere that you may intake by accident (that happened to my darling lady)
- a live 'Pizza Smut' cardboard shelter with a few peepholes on the walls
- many whiteouts (fun to experience for once)
- a dicky box (google on it. it's not as dirty as you would expect)
- a naked couple having a nice long BJ and a dirty cowgirl ride on a trampoline in a broad daylight in front of all the bypassers in our theme camp.
- and for the big encore: we almost got instantly killed by a falling huge swing set after a few people actually overswung and caused the support and set to fall apart thus nearly hitting our heads. luckily, i was watching them swing so hard that i could see that the set was going to fall and when it did, with quick reflection, i pulled my unsusipicious wife with me away and had we been standing where we originally were, we would gotten a big blow to our heads for sure.

so, to sum this up, i thank burning man for such an exhilarating ride and i hope to come back again next year! if you wanna join us, buy the 2006 tickets right away because that's when it'll be the cheapest ones you'll ever seen before prices start to climb every month!

burning man experience

just got back home from burning man and it's quite difficult to elaborate what burning man festival is like. i'd like to think that this festival pretty much has everything you can possibly imagine that would have NEVER happened in a real world.

here's what i have seen at BM:

- plainly everything
