finally christo in town soon!

http://christojeanneclaude.net/

i remember when i was a teen, one of christo's usual vast projects, _umbrella project_ was placed near los angeles. i saw them on a live tv, and wanted to check it out. of course, my parents didn't have time to drive me to that area just for a brief glimpse of this unique art installation. finally, christo's long dream of having his work shown at central park will become a reality when officially, his latest project, _the gate_ will start on february 7th, 2005. the city of new york has refused christo's _the gate_ project for 26 years!!! i wonder what triggered the city of new york to let the well known artist do this installation at this moment? while this project won't last that long (i think 16 days), i encourage you to come to nyc and check out this amazing feat by christo. i guarantee that you'd feel inspired by this unique sight.

blizzard

i immensely enjoyed pushing my body forward against forceful gust of blizzard yesterday. the chopped, pinchin' flakes were piercing through my facial skin, nevertheless, for some weird reason, i enjoyed the feeling. blizzard is one of those natural wonders that you don't get to face daily. i know many peepos are yearning for a sunshine daily... one day, i'd like to see a huge hail storm as i have never seen a hail as big as a handball snowball before. i might have to bring a steel cover in order to protect myself... my mom recently told me to 'stay away from the storm'.. gotta love those naggin' moms...

harlem

i was in the mood of exploring the city today, so i took off to harlem and i bought myself a real nice quality gray hoodie, yet CHEAP one for only 10 bucks. It seems like there are many cool stuff there than in SOHO. I guess it's due to the fact that harlem hasn't shaken off its stereotype for being a dangerous area to hang out... i've had a few foreign friends ask me if it was perfectly safe for them to go through harlem in the past... anyway, if you guys are looking for great deals on sporting clothing or jerseys, harlem's the best place to check out... after all, they're all legit shops along with a spankin' new H&M store there. it seems like harlem has risen out of the hood... it's probably due to the fact that clinton has his private office there.

completely forgotten...

my submission for designiskinky.net's mugshot has been accepted a long time ago and i haven't been following this site for a long time ever since i went globetrotting back in 2003-2004. that elaborates for the surge of my site's traffic last summer.

promoting yourself can be such a good thing...

strangers, hello world!

easy bake

earlier today, my fiancee and i were taking a stroll past toys r us in union square. somehow, she felt the urge to go inside to purchase easy bake. she definitely wants to go back to her childhood times. to me, she'll be always a kid at heart for the rest of her life. unfortunately, we realized that we'd rather save $$$ for our future instead of the easy fun baking.

nyc's restaurants very grateful...

was catching up with a friend who recently moved to nyc last summer from rochester...

he was telling me that ever since he moved to nyc, he has only cooked ONCE at home and has been dining out daily. i told him that i've been cooking most of the time since i moved here just to save $$$ for my ol' globetrotting days... but this time, i'm saving $$$ for the wedding banquet which will be held somewhere in fall 2005. anyway, my friend says that he eats sushi like 3 times a week and can't get enough of sushi! he can't seem to find his favorite sushi restaurant in NYC yet... so many sushi spots here. i think he ought to be working for village voice as a restaurant critic or so... enough of this blah...

off to bed now...

a nasty t s u n a m i - w o w !

more than 140,000 lives are lost in one single massive catastrophe.

how often do you see that?

then why not just find some changes under cushions of your sofa and donate some to those relief funds? i know that many bloggers probably posted this before, but do you ever think that it's about time we pay back to these small countries because they did their part during the 9-11 thing.

in the meantime, just donate $1 or more to one of those:

UNICEF

red cross

save the children

susie and i have already donated our $20. we hope that they'll recover real soon!
