for the last few days, squamish has been rained out, so many boulders, especially under the roof of forest, have been seeping wet. we've managed to find a few dry spots, and today was the best day to climb even though it was overcast. i've managed to drain my whole energy out on many excellent problems, including a new problem. i just hope that ill be able to crank on some hard testpieces here before leaving back to oregon this week. i find myself surprised that my fingertips haven't been shredded out yet from these needle-like granite.
i just got back from exploring through squamish's finest polished granite. the quality of these problems *bleep* extraordinary. so many steep problems, so many open handed slopers. hell, this huge campground is only a short stroll from boulders.. and these boulders are being shined by the sun rays through dense branches. i just hope i will be able to pull a few quality problems....

good for ever, hectic, slaving male workers...
(also notice on the article's last paragraph... so there's still hope for ladies, too!)
i'm actually sitting in first class seat waiting to take off to jfk. the flight here is wide open so i was able to catch first class seat with my standby ticket, courtesy of my dad's benefits from united airlines. now, i should be able to catch a pleasant long zzz during this red eye flight.
anyway, i hope to rest for a few days before i fly out again soon to portland. someone had mentioned to me earlier that i practically live in a plane right now ;) what do i miss about commerical planes is a shower room. who knows if virgin atlantic will come up with it as it has a bar stand in its first class section!
last night as i was waiting anxiously outside of my folks' house with my friend, my cautious mom had peeked through the french door's blind to see who in the world would want to buzz her doorbell at 1030 pm. she was definitely pleasantly surprised and asked me what was i doing here??? obviously, she had never expected me to be here. (so, i guess my friend was dead wrong about it) who wouldn't want to miss her 70th birthday? today she seems to be in enthusiastic mood probably due to my presence here as i'm her only son after all. my dad's organizing a dinner party tonight and we're expecting about 20 guests!
you could tag me insane... i'm flying back to new york tmw evening via a red eye flight. then a few days later, i'll be flying across the country again back to the west coast, but this time it will be portland, oregon where i'll be joining two friends for a drive to vancouver, b.c. for a bouldering session for about 5 days. then i'll be going back to portland to attend a friend's wedding. anyway, for some reason , i feel more psyched about going to squamish than attending a friend's wedding reception (i expect the reception to have an open bar!)
enough of my blah blah blok blog blag here...
tomorrow is my mom's 70th birthday! tonight i'll be leaving san francisco, and surprise my mom tonight. hopefully she doesn't have the instinct that i'm here in town. yesterday a friend told me that she felt that my mom would know that i'm here due to the fact that she's my mom! i told her that she knows me well enough that i just love to surprise the hell of anyone!
anyway, this past week in san francisco has been little uneventful for me unfortunately.. i think it's the fact that my friend's bf's house is very comfortable and spacious right here in the heart of mission district. even though i haven't been there before, my friend told me that i should check out a nice dessert cafe called _citizen cane_ which is on grove and gough. so check it out when you're having sweet buds.
oh yeah, earlier a few days ago, i had installed a blacklist plug in for this MT blog as i've been getting many spammers' comments lately. boy, this plug has definitely saved me lots of headaches!
just finished chowing down a denver omelet at mason cafe on mason st. alone. you ask why there's a loner dining at 4 am today? well, i had arrived in palo alto, my hometown, earlier about 5 hours ago. i was gonna crash at my friend's pad here in san francisco, but there was no train service to sf in this such late hour so i had to wait for an owl bus service to sf. i told my friend not to worry about me crashing at her pad. finally at 1245am, i hopped into an extended bus, and fell asleep for a while. after 40 miles and 2 hours later, i had finally arrived at sf's mission district. now it was such a delight to see some cool activities at wee hours. i had witnessed a few disgruntled city employees power-wash sidewalk along market street, many homeless bums sleeping, a few wackos, who seemed to have escaped from an institution, muttering and cussing to themselves. i wish i had brought my digicam with me to record all. it seems like i've broken my habit of carry my cam anywhere :(. well, i got a few hours to kill in sf before the sun rises. hope i don't end up in a big, black plastic body bag today...
finally after a week of my database in the wrong path, i'm happy to inform you that my blog's finally back on, and now on the new server.
anyway, i'm in the city of angels right now as i have a friend's wedding to attend tomorrow. yesterday, i was inside of a plane for a total of 9.5 hours between jfk and lax. what happened you ask... well, my plane has been stranded in the taxiway for more than 3 hours as the tower told all the pilots that they couldn't take off due to nasty thunderstorms nearby even though it's so dayum clear outside at jfk. i've even finished reading cover to cover on michael moore's _stupid white men_ in the plane and it's pretty hilarious. i can't wait to watch his movie, _fahrenheit 9/11_ someday soon.
anyway, i hope to check out qeedrophonic show at http://www.subliminalprojects.com/ this sunday. so if you're in la area, go and check this cool show out!
earlier today, with my folks being in town for a few days, i went with my mom and aunt to macy's. i had completely forgot what is it like to shop with them as they continuously have a great workout through this huge macy's on 34th st. occasionally, i've had to find a chair, sit myself, and catch up my trail of emails on my precious sidekick. my mom who will be 70 this month acted like as if she's only 30 shopping with my aunt going through a maze of fashion for a few hours. i'm just very glad that my fiancee isn't like my mom at all. she only shops when she needs something instead of 'want.'
i find this quite amusing...

as of 8 pm, the servers will be down as they will go under the knife for coding replacement - UPGRADE!
so, you won't see my site from 8 pm till 12 am today.
hopefully the surgery goes well as planned.
don't you ever get sick of my subject, "back home..."?
anyway, the rafting trip was a blast though i wish the river (kennebec river) was little more rough. i am told that there will be a HUGE water release from the dam on that river on sept. 11th, and i'm tempted to go back up there again. my guide, joel from moxie outdoor adventures, was very cool as he let one of my friends, keith, stand on the top hull of our inflatable boat while we were paddling through wee rapids. moxie outdoor adventures did take a few pictures of us paddling through the heavy rapids. i'll post them once they're online.
in the meantime, there's a web site that might intrigue ya:
(thanks, sacha)
oh as for that nasty surprise gift of my roommate's gf, my roommate's still asleep, so i will find out once i see him...
