earlier a month ago, i had posted a blog about this nice hidden spot called kungsford terrace. i had spelled it by mistake.. it's actually called knutsford terrace and it's in the area of tsim sha tsui.
my web hosting's server got hacked recently, so i've had to rebuild my blog here, and i see the old layout here, so i'll have to fix it once i get back to usa since my powerbook can't find wifi access around here. so much of $$$ flowing through hong kong, yet it doesn't have many wifi spots around here! pretty sad...
anyway, i'll be off to ocean terminal soon today to hit bookstores...
i'm back in hong kong, and i've been chowing down lavish meals since i got here last night and i hope to gain a few pounds after shedding some while in primitive western tibet. today i went shopping and bought myself many qees figures at toy mart.
for those of you who desire to know my return date, i'm happy to inform you that i will be back in nyc on either june 5th or 6th, so please stop bugging my fiancee about my whereabouts ;-) she's as clueless as you *grins* anyway, i will definitely be delighted to see my finacee real soon. first, i will be flying out to san francisco on june 2nd and stay there for a few days before going back to new york! i'm not exactly sure if i'm ready to go back to new york yet. but i know that that there's one thing that i definitely miss new york - crif dogs! for some reason, i crave 'em right now!
anyway, see you in a bit.
now back in lhasa after going through powdery, dusty dirt for the past two weeks. ngari is definitely one of those last frontiers to visit. i truly felt like being in a stagecoach squirming through sandy grassland and countless passes through tibet's wild west landscape. i truly find it hard to believe that western tibet used to be one of elite places to travel through for traders during the 10th century because this area seems so inhabitable to live in for our 'modern' needs. i have to admit that this area has definitely made me more humble because they have such a very simple way of life. it definitely made me want to hang out with these nomads for a year or so, admiring the tibetian's legendary landscapes daily.
anyway, i'll have some mixed emotions about leaving tibet tomorrow to chengdu. frankly, i'm quite sick of sitting my ass in the SUV for about a month daily. oh that reminds me... my lowlight of the trip was getting sick for two days that i even had to get an i.v. inserted into my arm with glucose since i haven't eaten much for two days. i just kept vomiting even from my empty stomach. it's probably because of my migrane being ignited by the strong odor of gasoline that was spilled from a container inside the SUV. well, at least, i'm fine now. one of my highlights has to hang out with these poor, filthy, nomadic tibetians yet they are such charming and quite fun to be with, especially kids. also, tsamrami (guge kingdom) is a place you should visit, too, as well as mt. kalish, too.
hope all is well with you. i am completely clueless to what is happening out in my homeland. i hope there's nothing much i miss out there...
i've been in lhasa for about six days (i left lhasa a few days ago to go to nam-tso lake, one of the world's highest saltwater lake at about 4900 meter and stayed there overnight before coming back to lhasa again) i got the word that we'd be leaving tomorrow's dawn to shitgase (not sure if i spelled it correctly). during my stay in lhasa, i've seen much of the well known places, and out of boredom, i've managed to finish reading michael chabon's _kavelier and clay's adventures_. if you are into comic books as well as the witty use of terminology, i'd suggest you to read this book. it quite entertained me while in lhasa! now, i'm reading second book, _the unlikely spy_, by daniel silva. it's about world war ii's espionage between the allies and germany. i've read the first 100 pages so far, and it's pretty interesting... i think both of these books could find their way to hollywood. i wouldn't be surprised if _the unlikely spy_ would star harrison ford as alfred vicary. okay enough of my typing here...
gotta hit the sack soon!
