I have read this article very attentievly, but I have no my own idea about it... :((((

you know you're in san francisco when you see:
a negro gangsta rolling up his joint by the bus stop stand.
a squattin' caucasian hippie toking up his glass pipe, leaning against the store's ledge on a crowded sidewalk.
a motor-mouth crack-infested addict sporadically zigzagging his way shouting nonsense.
a few of tourists gasping, gazing, and whispering each other along castro neighborhood area.
a homeless bum just randomly rushes to direct a woman parallel park her glitzy beemer in hope of pulling some shiny coins from her ashtray.
geez, such utmost things i certainly miss about san francisco!
- a time machine (if there's ever one)
- more clients
- get my apartment's mural done
- an unscripted, productive schedule
- a lighting g5 tower
- a mini cooper (tt440tt, thanks for making me envious...)
- a free package to hampi, india
- finally at last, a full recovery to my hip and shoulder injuries
merry christmas, folks.
on the realistic side, i got a hardcover about douglas adams, countless benjamins, and many gifts that are yet to be given.
i've been practically on this site for the past 4 hours. why am i hooked to this site you ask? well, i'm @ my folks' place right now, and i have no siblings to yap at. what's even worse, i'm desperately web surfing on a 56k modem! it's bloody pathetic if you ask me. i know i should be randomly sketching or start browsing through tolstoy's _war and peace_ seriously, i need a dose of flavor pill. (with music aside, of course...) to stimulate my nerve cells. it seems like lately, a series of san francisco's bizarre events have stirred up the holiday spirits lately even on me, too. (such as the mini blackout, a vast rolling quake, and the ever non-stop cloud juices pouring on us) while these stuff do excite me, i find myself glued to the monitor for the most of the evening. i seriously need to pry my ass out of my chair right now and head to my ever trustful mattress now!
good night.
i was just sitting on a toilet's bowel minding my own business and then flushed it. at this moment, i thought the toilet was making lots of its weird noises. the toilet has been known to create absurd noises. but when i came out of the bathroom, my mom just came to me and asked me if i felt anything... and i was bit puzzled and told her about the toilet... needlessly, she interrupted me saying that it was earthquake and showed me the curtains moving already. due to the fact that i've been OUT of my california roots, i wasn't even able to distinguish the earthquake or maybe my body has already adapted to the earth movers... just found out that it was about a 6.5 quake. (if u want to know how strong that is.. compare it to the infamous 1989's 7.2 quake here) guess i'll be expecting aftershocks soon later in the day...
from a big family dinner at a local chinese restaurant:

that's how a chinese chicken greets you...
Hmm.... I found other article about this theme... But I did'n remember URL, sorry... Try to search google....

taken earlier tonight at rockfeller center.
i'm off to san francisco, california tomorrow. time to get rejuvenated with my ol' roots.
no, it's not about saddam's capture.

the question arises... i wonder how do these chinese pimps look like? i can't imagine these so-called communists wearing wacky, flashy, velvet suits. but on the positive side, they are starting to break out of a conservative nutshell. anyway, that leads me to another issue... i wonder how would the world look if the majority of the countries are full of democracy? does that make many people be more educated and more open about each other though that would probably lead to more ever pessimistic issues, too. why in the heck am i rambling here? i have a deadline to meet here and i'm just posting an useless blog here...
here's the excerpt from CNN's more surprising 6-figure jobs's article:
Broadcast captioners: Those real-time captions you see on the screen of live television programs, such as a news shows, are provided by broadcast captioners.
Most typically, they might earn $50-to-$100 for every programming hour they caption and they work for companies hired by networks to provide the captioning, said Kathy DiLorenzo, director of reporter and captioner relations at VITAC, a captioning company.
Top captioners at VITAC earn between $60,000 and $120,000 a year with benefits, DiLorenzo said.
But to make that $120,000 a year, an employee might caption 30-to-40 hours of programs a week, which does not include the preparation time they need to make sure their software and equipment are ready to handle the content of a broadcast.
As with court reporters, the ability to concentrate and the need for physical stamina is key to provide real-time captions for that many hours of live television.
Unlike court reporters, though, captioners don't need to be on-site if they have the proper equipment at home, which is necessary if you're an independent contractor. If you do work independently, you'll probably need to invest about $18,000 to get the right computers and software, DiLorenzo said.
Typically, people wishing to become broadcast captioners will need at least three years of full-time education, unless they're already court reporters, in which case they might need a year of retraining, DiLorenzo said.

so, these peepos should thank us, the peepos of deaf community, for providing these new jobs. i wonder what should they do to pay us back? donating their time to make CC for porn movies? i truly find porn movies pretty much boring considering that i can't follow its plot. the characters are like machines, repeating all the sexual actions over and over again. i know that we the deafies can pick up from their facial expressions, but what i'd love to see is the captions of nice, vivid details of their moanings and rants. that would definitely generate more $$$ into porn businesses and they'd finally get the drift and start to hire more captioners.
well, i guess i'm dreaming in these days right now...
no, it's not the length of my banana, but it's how deep of snow that i had to shovel out of my gf's family's house in LI on the driveway. no, i'm not grumbling here, but i just want to bring up the fact that i have NEVER shoveled snow out of the whole driveway in my life before. so with all the crackling and aching pain in my back, it was all well worth the effort. also it's a great alternative workout since i was planning to stay away from bouldering for a while to recuperate quickly on my hip/shoulder injuries. (just minor ones). anyway, it seems like nyc's finest fluffy powder will completely melt by the end of the week as we're expecting some 50-degree days this week. that reminds me.. i have to cross off one of my 'must-to-do things' in nyc soon. that is to take a nice stroll with my gf around rockfeller center and go ice skating in front of a vast, dazzling-ornamented christmas tree with many white frozen flakes everywhere.
Was just looking for a site like this, thanks
i'm here at a local coffeehouse where it boasts that it has invented the only ever 'indoor' s'mores here. the menu reads, "s'mores for two - 10.50 bucks" back at the hp40 in alabama, i truly believe that ryan has purchased all the essential ingredients ever needed to make s'mores for measly 6 bucks for 4 of us. i haven't ordered s'mores here yet, but i can imagine that the puny fluid-fire won't cook the marshmallows as well as the roasted, charcoal-flavor marshmallows from camping. but i'll find out when i bring my beloved sweetheart here for dessert someday. it seems like i've found a good dessert spot here in manhattan even though this place closes early at midnight. (early you ask? well, i usually hit the sack at 3-4 am if you wanted to know)

me on _man with slow hand_ in hp40.

uh... i'm just too lazy to type up an insightful report here and i'd like to let my friend, tim, sum up our trip:

oh yeah, i got my powerbook all amped up with panther. it's nice i must say even though i don't noticably tell the prominent difference between the previous version and this current one. i just find the new performance just plainly sparsely faster than the old one. i guess it'll take some time for me to notice the difference.
