just got back from kentucky last monday. was there to climb at red river gorge with merrick. though it rained for the most of the weekend, we still managed to find a few dry routes due to its 'overhanging' wall. while i suck in endurance, i never managed to redpoint any of the eudurance routes. also, rrgcc.com hosted a dyno contest which merrick and i entered. i was surprised to make to the final five with the highest score. but in the final round, i couldn't manage to hold on to the sloper hold and wasn't able to get tie in with other four opponents. to break off the tie, they had to hang on to the board as long as they can without dropping. like i said earlier, i suck in endurance and wouldn't have probably won it. however; i surprised myself for making to the top 5. finally on monday, sun CAME and we climbed madly. i almost onsighted a 5.10a route on toproping, only to fall right by the last bolt which i believe was to be the crux of all. accck. anyway, i have to say that the weekend has been good to me. now, i'm flying out to CA tonight to attend a friend's wedding and also probably will extend my stay there as i'll be cleaning out my parents' fridge ;-) so expect to hear nada from me till i get back home next week.

The U.S. joblessness report for February 2004 stunned
observers and investors alike - instead of creating
the forecasted 125,000 new jobs, the entire U.S.
economy only managed to produce 21,000 additional
jobs. That left the 'official' unemployment rate
steady at 5.6 per cent - I say 'official', because
those people who've simply given up looking for
jobs are dropped from the 'official' count, and in
many areas no jobs exist once a big plant closes
and moves overseas [ergo, there are soon 'no j
jobseekers' there!].

a ho-hum economic recovery, plant closings and
