a day of ardous work for the gates

6 am: wake up
7 am: show up at central park's boat house to fill up the legal papers
8 am: christo and jeanne claude show up to give out a lecture about the gates and what we the monitors can do to help them.
9 am: assigned to section 2, area 3 which is one of the highly traffic areas with many people walking by which is on the northwest side of sheep meadows on the west side of central park. (if you see sheep meadows cafe, then you'll know i'm working near that)
10-12 pm: continue to walk around, answering questions, passing off the fabric swatches (they go about $20s on ebay), flipping the fabric back with a long tennis ball pole after a wind blows it over the gate, and posing pictures for many awe-tourists.
12pm: lunch at boat house... DELICIOUS lunch!
1pm: resume work. less walk, less fixing the fabric incidents, but MORE people coming to me asking for swatch (two most asked questions: do you have a swatch? and what is that tennis ball for?)
430pm: off
6pm: leftover dinner from vietnamese restaurant
8pm: bedtime

so i've slept for almost 12 hours last night! my feet were killing me last night, though the soreness have gone by this AM. i gotta wear a better pair of sneakers tomorrow. i have a day off today, so i'll be working on my business' website and spending time with my sweetheart tonight.

happy valentine's day even though we don't celebrate it much. to us, we celebrate valentine's day on any day...
