back from my adventurous days in ngari

now back in lhasa after going through powdery, dusty dirt for the past two weeks. ngari is definitely one of those last frontiers to visit. i truly felt like being in a stagecoach squirming through sandy grassland and countless passes through tibet's wild west landscape. i truly find it hard to believe that western tibet used to be one of elite places to travel through for traders during the 10th century because this area seems so inhabitable to live in for our 'modern' needs. i have to admit that this area has definitely made me more humble because they have such a very simple way of life. it definitely made me want to hang out with these nomads for a year or so, admiring the tibetian's legendary landscapes daily.

anyway, i'll have some mixed emotions about leaving tibet tomorrow to chengdu. frankly, i'm quite sick of sitting my ass in the SUV for about a month daily. oh that reminds me... my lowlight of the trip was getting sick for two days that i even had to get an i.v. inserted into my arm with glucose since i haven't eaten much for two days. i just kept vomiting even from my empty stomach. it's probably because of my migrane being ignited by the strong odor of gasoline that was spilled from a container inside the SUV. well, at least, i'm fine now. one of my highlights has to hang out with these poor, filthy, nomadic tibetians yet they are such charming and quite fun to be with, especially kids. also, tsamrami (guge kingdom) is a place you should visit, too, as well as mt. kalish, too.

hope all is well with you. i am completely clueless to what is happening out in my homeland. i hope there's nothing much i miss out there...
